👋🌿 Meet Our New Intern — Andrew Jordan
We’re excited to welcome Andrew Jordan to the Florida Bay Forever team!
Andrew is currently pursuing his Master of Professional Science in Marine Biology with a focus in Coastal Zone Management at the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School. His work is rooted in a lifelong connection to the water and a strong passion for coastal conservation and community-driven stewardship.
Originally from Connecticut, Andrew grew up as an avid outdoorsman, which shaped his commitment to protecting natural spaces. He earned his B.S. in Environmental Biology from Providence College before gaining hands-on experience across a variety of coastal and marine roles.
His background includes working as a NOAA at-sea fisheries observer in the Gulf of Maine, where he collected critical data aboard commercial fishing vessels, as well as supporting land management and habitat restoration with a nonprofit land trust on Martha’s Vineyard. He has also worked in waterfront operations at a yacht club, gaining strong operational, safety, and field coordination experience in dynamic marine environments.
Andrew brings a strong mix of field science, fisheries experience, GIS and technical skills, and a deep respect for coastal ecosystems. His work reflects a clear focus on the intersection of people, data, and marine conservation.
We’re looking forward to having him support our programs, field work, and community initiatives as we continue building science-based, community-centered conservation efforts in the Florida Keys.
