Join Florida Bay Forever for the final scheduled guided hikes of the season at Green Turtle Hammock Nature Preserve. Wander beneath a canopy of native trees and discover one of Islamorada’s hidden natural treasures as we explore the fascinating world of the hardwood hammock.
Led by Jodie, Executive Director of Florida Bay Forever, these engaging walks combine natural history, ecology, local culture, and storytelling to reveal the connections between people, plants, wildlife, and Florida Bay. Along the trail, you’ll learn to identify native species, uncover traditional plant uses, and gain a deeper appreciation for the unique ecosystems that make the Florida Keys so special.
Whether you’re a longtime local, a first-time visitor, a bird enthusiast, or simply curious about the natural world, this hike offers something for all ages.
